Agronomist Extension Officers

Agricado Farms Uganda Ltd is a leading agribusiness company in Uganda that produces and exports high-quality fruits and vegetables to international markets. We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Agronomist Extension Officer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Work with farmers to provide agronomic support and technical guidance on best practices in crop management.
• Conduct field visits and provide training to farmers on pest and disease control, soil management, water management, and other aspects of crop production.
• Guide and manage harvests of crops including chillies, eggplants and hass avocado
• Develop and implement extension programs and demonstration plots to showcase best practices and new technologies to farmers.
• Collect data on crop performance and provide regular reports to management.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that crop production meets quality standards and customer requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of previous experience in agronomy or related field.
• Bachelor or Diploma degree in Agronomy or Crop Protection.
• Strong knowledge of crop management and best practices in agriculture.
• Experience working in the community and having local community linkages in Western and South Western Uganda as well as other key districts
• Willingness to spend time extensively in rural areas.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in the use of computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
