Job Description

  • Deputize the HRM
  • Assist the HRM Design airline specific strategies and policies consistent with the vision, mission, goals and mandates.
  • Design and plan policy programs to achieve the strategies in the areas of airline organizational development, performance management, workforce planning, staff development and organizational culture.
  • Assist in the Consolidation and implementation of the Airline Recruitment Plan from departmental needs analysis.
  • Support the HR Manager in overseeing the recruitment and hiring process, including reviewing resumes, conducting interviews, and making recommendations for hiring decisions.
  • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and speak to the business needs through consistently updating the Job descriptions booklet.
  • Develop and monitor the airline Recruitment budget and ensure it is monitored and is within the set structure as maybe approved.
  • Ensure all recruitment procedures and reports are fully authorized and in line with the necessary approvals and Policy before implementation.
  • Ensure effective Employee contract management
  • Spearhead the Performance management system of the airline through the Oracle PMS and ensure all staff undergo the process as per the set policy.
  • Assist to develop a succession planning tree for all key positions per department and ensure programs are arranged and implemented.
  • Develop a talent pool per department through use of Orace-HCM.
  • Monitor and supervise Core HR data accuracy and updates in Oracle-HCM
  • Support and maintain a Human Resource agenda to form good working relations with other departments within the airline to achieve the mandates.
  • Develop and review policies, procedures, practices, standards and tools that deliver services effectively.
  • Establish and ensure the effective implementation and reviews of plans, systems, policies and processes for human resources planning, talent acquisition, management and development, employee engagement, legal compliance, employee relations, compensation and benefits, and payroll.
  • Monitor, revise, and lead in institutionalizing Human Resources policies, philosophy, values and practices that embrace and drive the airlines’ core values and objectives Ensure compliance with laws, human resource related policies and regulations.
  • Manage relations with the staff and promote good employee relations through dialogue, consultation and continuous staff engagement on Human Resources issues.
  • Co-ordinate airline diagnostic surveys, Human Resource audits, stakeholder and employee surveys as needed to monitor and evaluate organizational culture and climate.
  • Handle employee relations issues, such as conflicts, complaints, and disciplinary actions, in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Constantly provide feedback and updates to staff using the SharePoint system referred to as the CRANE-HUB
  • Coordinate all Human Resources audits and ensure all information is provided on a timely basis
  • Monitor, manage and explore ways of reducing the cost of recruitment, practices and procedures and identify areas for specific improvement.
  • Manage relations with partners and external Human Resource service providers, etc.
  • Monthly production of HR activity reports on departmental progress.
  • Stay informed about HR trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive and compliant with industry standards.

 

Academic Requirements and Relevant Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, Business Administration, Public Management or Administration, Law, Industrial Relations or other related Social Sciences with 5 years progressive experience in managing Human Resources and Administration functions in a busy organization. 
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • Age bracket of 30-45 years
  • Member of HRMAU.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in coaching and training
  • Demonstrated knowledge in compensation and benefits
  • Demonstrated knowledge in culture transformation
  • Demonstrated knowledge in change management strategies and models
