About the Role


Suekar Freight Ltd is looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead our Uganda operations. This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who thrives in business development, operational leadership, and market expansion. You will be responsible for driving growth, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring seamless coordination between the Uganda office and our head office.

Key Responsibilities


1. Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute strategies to achieve business growth targets.


2. Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and cost control.
  • Implement operational procedures that align with local business requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Ugandan business regulations, labor laws, and permits.


3. Financial & Administrative Oversight

  • Manage local budgets and expenses to ensure transparency and sustainability.
  • Work closely with finance teams to maintain accurate reporting and cost control.


4. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary link between the Uganda office and the head office.
  • Facilitate clear communication with clients, suppliers, and government authorities.


5. Team Leadership & Growth

  • Identify staffing needs and assist in recruiting team members.
  • Provide leadership and support to foster a strong, motivated team.


Who We're Looking For


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or operations, preferably in Uganda or East Africa.
  • Proven track record in market expansion, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth.


Skills & Attributes

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Proficiency in business development tools (CRM, Excel, reporting software).
  • Deep understanding of Ugandan business regulations, market dynamics, and local business culture.
  • Self-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
