About the Role
Suekar Freight Ltd is looking for a driven and results-oriented Business Development Manager to lead our Uganda operations. This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who thrives in business development, operational leadership, and market expansion. You will be responsible for driving growth, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring seamless coordination between the Uganda office and our head office.

Key Responsibilities
1. Business Growth & Market Expansion
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve business growth targets.
2. Operations & Compliance
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency and cost control.
- Implement operational procedures that align with local business requirements.
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan business regulations, labor laws, and permits.
3. Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Manage local budgets and expenses to ensure transparency and sustainability.
- Work closely with finance teams to maintain accurate reporting and cost control.
4. Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary link between the Uganda office and the head office.
- Facilitate clear communication with clients, suppliers, and government authorities.
5. Team Leadership & Growth
- Identify staffing needs and assist in recruiting team members.
- Provide leadership and support to foster a strong, motivated team.
Who We're Looking For
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or operations, preferably in Uganda or East Africa.
- Proven track record in market expansion, strategic partnerships, and revenue growth.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management abilities.
- Proficiency in business development tools (CRM, Excel, reporting software).
- Deep understanding of Ugandan business regulations, market dynamics, and local business culture.
- Self-driven leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
