Job Description/Requirements
- Prepare and cook authentic Jamaican dishes, including jerk chicken, oxtail, curry goat, and signature rum-infused meals.
- Maintain high standards of food preparation, presentation, and hygiene.
- Manage kitchen inventory and ensure all ingredients are fresh and stocked.
- Work with management to create and refine menu items.
- Ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals, especially during peak hours.
- Train and supervise kitchen assistants to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Proven experience as a chef, preferably in Caribbean or Jamaican cuisine.
- Knowledge of Jamaican spices, marinades, and traditional cooking methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle high order volumes.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Excellent time management and organization.
- Attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
- Culinary certification is a plus but not required.
- Innovate new dishes and specials to keep the menu fresh and exciting.
