The shift pattern for this position is Rotational day/night 11.55hr shifts Mon-Sun.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a band 5 staff nurse to work in one of our Older people mental health wards in Leverndale hospital. Balmore ward is a 18 bedded organic assessment ward in Leverndale Hospital.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the context of an inpatient ward, will have responsibility for the assessment of patient care needs and the development and evaluation of programs of care. They will be expected to carry out all relevant forms of care in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals and in line with agreed standards and clinical policies.
Regularly taking charge of the ward and the supervision and teaching of junior staff, both qualified and unqualified will be an important aspect of the role as will be the mentoring of nurses undergoing basic or post-basic training.
The post-holder will be expected to practice within a legal & ethical framework as defined by: -
- The Nursing & Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct,
- National mental health related legislation
- National and local policy, guidelines and protocols.
Shift patterns are Mon-Sun, 11.55 hour shifts and rotational day/night
