Job Description/Requirements
The children of Grace, located in Jinja District, is seeking an exceptional country director to join and lead the team. Children of Grace is committed to international standards of safeguarding and child protection and have robust and comprehensive child protection and safeguarding mechanisms in place in its recruitment process.
Candidate Profile
- A minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant subject area (e.g. social work, psychology, leadership, MBA, development studies).
- Experienced (7 years+) Christian leader who has held senior positions in complex/high profile/multinational organisations.
- Experience (7 years +) in working with large, complex donors (USAID, EU, FCDO etc.) to secure and/or manage new large-scale and/or competitive funding.
- Experience in designing and managing complex programmes with large budgets across multiple domains flowing complex MERL systems.
- Sophisticated networker and experienced in imitating and managing relationships across stakeholders, including government ministries, leaders, and donors.
- Understanding of key trends in international and humanitarian development.
- Demonstrable ability to recruit, lead and develop high caliber specialist senior staff with a range of backgrounds and expertise (finance and administration, MERL, programmes, legal and compliance, safeguarding and security).
- Strong track record in building high performance teams and future successors/leaders.
- Ability to manage and motivate self and others to respond to significant and complex needs of beneficiaries, requiring swift action and rapid changes in priorities.
- Innovative approach to solving a range of highly complex issues and galvanizing buy-into the solutions at all levels.
- Experience (7 years +) and knowledge of context and actors in the East Africa Region.
- Fluency and speaking and writing in English.
- Commitment to the Children of Grace vision, principles, mission and values.
- Experience (7 years+) in designing, implementing and running humanitarian programs and ability to work in a volatile environment preferred.
