Job Summary:
The Credit Supervisor will be directly responsible for the Credit Officers at the branch and will report to the Branch Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loan mobilization: Leads credit officers and sales staff at branch level to grow assets by supporting asset mobilization campaigns, liaising with credit officers to meet potential loan applicants, available loan types or credit options that are available including the terms and conditions.
- Portfolio quality Management: Overseeing approvals of loans in line with the Branch Committee, manage the loan administration, monitoring and recovery processes in compliance with set loan standards of the institution.
- Member and secretary to the Branch Credit committee: Make recommendations of all branch loans to the branch credit committee in accordance with Pride Capital credit policies and procedures.
- Loan compliance: Carry out day-to-day monitoring of client’s loan performance in line with agreed terms and conditions of the loan and per set credit policy and procedures at Pride Capital to guarantee a qualitative loan portfolio.
- Credit reporting: Undertakes reporting (day-to-day) on all client loan compliances, non-compliances, incidents arising out of bad loans and trends in loan repayments as well as any feedback to support a qualitative portfolio for the institution.
- Support with loan recovery efforts: co-owner with credit officer for client loan application process at branch level and the subsequent decisions thereof. This includes: monitoring of client’s loan performance, adherence to KYC/AML procedures due to the client, loan collateral and recovery procedures that may arise out of poor loan management processes.
- Periodic credit monitoring and review of existing customers and assessment of the creditworthiness of potential loan customers in accordance with Pride Capital credit policies and procedures.
- Succession planning: Deputizes the Branch Manager in cases of absence and as such perform all duties of the incumbent as approved or delegated from time to time.
- Team supervision: Takes full responsibility for guiding of all direct reports, focusing on all aspects of sound people management e.g., Coaching, On-the-job training, Development, Performance Management, compliance to set standards and Employee engagement.
- Participate in the setting of loan targets for credit staff at the branch and ensure achievement of the targets while operating within established limits for credit extension in accordance with the organization targets.
- Analyze the applications submitted by the customers and credit applications brought to the Credit Committee in accordance with the laid down procedures.
- Sanctioning all approved loans up to the branch limits.
- Ensure safe custody for the loan securities and files in the branch in line with the Pride Capital credit policies and procedures. Plan, organize and document all proceedings of the branch loan approval and recovery committee meetings in line with Pride Capital credit policies.
- Evaluate the performance of the branch loan portfolio and generate weekly and monthly reports on quality, growth, disbursements, and projected business for the coming week and spot checks in line with Pride Capital policies for guidance to the Branch Manager.
- Perform any other duties as maybe assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
The ideal applicant for Pride Capital Limited Credit Officer Position must have:
- The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a business-related course or its equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar role and/or position or three (3) years’ work experience as a Credit Officer in a financial institution.
- Excellent credit analysis skills
- Strong business acumen.
- Proven satisfactory performance record.
- Knowledge of the full MS Office suite
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very good communication skills both oral and written.
- Very good negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Good time manager, self-driven and motivated individual with strong organizational abilities.
- Good teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Age: between 28-30years
