Job Description/Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience: At least 7 years of experience at a senior associate level.
- Specialisation: Must be a specialist in labour relations, ideally coming from a reputable legal firm.
- Background: Preferably has dealt with labour relations extensively and can build experience in HR.
- Not HR: Individuals moving directly from law firms to HR are often diluted. This role requires someone with a pure legal background.
Responsibilities:
- To support HR Director with labour relations.
- Handling disciplinary actions, documentation, union-related issues, and governance.
- Must have friends in the industrial court and a proven track record of winning cases.
- Responsible for teaching the Country Managing Team (CMT) and Greater Management Team (GMT) on labour laws and how to conduct disciplinary procedures.
- Acts like an in-house advisor on labour law matters.
Skills Required:
- Strong stakeholder management
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Excellent conflict and complaint resolution skills
Attributes: Should be able to handle various conflict and complaint resolutions as any large company has some.
Other Details:
- Business Acumen: Not as crucial for this role.
- Salary Range: 12-15 million UGX.
