Fashion and Design Tutor

Job Summary:

The Fashion & Design Tutor is responsible for equipping students with creative and technical skills in the areas of garment construction, fashion illustration, fabric sourcing, and fashion marketing. The tutor will guide students in creating both practical and theoretical portfolios that prepare them for careers in fashion design, garment manufacturing, and retail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver comprehensive lessons covering fashion theory, design processes, and garment construction techniques.
• Mentor students in developing their personal design styles, helping them build portfolios that reflect their creativity and skill.
• Teach sewing, draping, and pattern-making through practical classes, ensuring students gain hands-on experience.
• Organize fashion shows and exhibitions to showcase students’ work and assess their ability to conceptualize and execute design projects.
• Keep up-to-date with fashion industry trends and integrate them into course content to ensure students are learning relevant skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion & Design or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in fashion industry or teaching.
• Strong portfolio of design work.
• Creativity and attention to detail.
• Practical sewing and design skills.
• Ability to mentor and coach students.
