Job Title: Finance Manager

JOB PURPOSE
Manages corporate finance and accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and compliance, while ensuring strong internal controls. Requires 10+ years of finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role within the pharmaceutical industry.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Process and Reporting
• Ensure that all transactions are processed in compliance with the Company’s group policies and taxation regulations.
• Ensure that the processes/ procedures are well defined, implemented, communicated and understood by all parties.
• Submit financial reports in a timely manner as per agreed and established dates, as well as and when required by the management.
• Make sure that all financial reports accurately reflect the performance of the company.
• Liaise and deal with the auditors as and when required in liaison with the Head of Finance.
Financial Management and Control
• Verify, overseas and ensure that the internal control procedures are adequate, efficient and followed accordingly.
• Review the control procedure on a regular basis. Improve and enhance the control effectiveness.
• Identify wweaknesses/ loopholes and/or process deficiencies and take prompt remedial actions.
• Verify and make sure that payments among other transactions are complying with the established control procedures.
• Monitor cash flow and report when required.
Human Capital Management
• Coach and orientate the junior finance team towards business objectives.
• Motivate, mentor and retain key talents of the finance team.
• Set team members objectives. Establish and agreed on result measurements/ KPI and review the performance/ objective progression regularly.
Business Advisory and Partnering
• Assist in the project feasibility studies and appraisal.
• Collaborate with the management to establish effective business controls.
• Provide management with accurate financial information needed to guide appropriate business decision making.
• Recommend, develop and implement internal control and risk management framework.
• Provide advice to management on accounting legislation application and standards.
• Analyze data and provide best practice recommendations to the management.
Service Excellence
• Attend to specific needs of internal customers as well as and ensure that queries and assistance are provided in a timely manner and in compliance with department’s standards/ procedure set.
• Ensure that the finance service level provided is up to expectations and standards.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Holder of a bachelor’s degree in accounting /Fully Qualified ACCA or CPA holder
• Up to date knowledge of the Ugandan accounting legislation/ laws.
Experience
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, including at least 5 years in a senior role within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven people management/ leadership experience.
