Summary:

To support this goal, we seek a Gender Inclusion Associate to oversee the integration and inclusion of women, internally displaced people and people living with disabilities in the training and job placement activities of the Youth in Work Mastercard Foundation project in partnership with BrighterMonday Uganda.

Brief Job Summary:

Your mission as the Gender and Inclusivity Associate is to oversee the integration and inclusion of women, internally displaced people and people living with disabilities in the training and job placement activities of the Youth in Work Mastercard Foundation project in partnership with BrighterMonday Uganda


Key Duties & Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership on gender integration, policy, implementation, measurement, and reporting.
  • Ideate and manage campaigns for special programs targeted at women.
  • Establish partnerships with NGOs and FBOs working with women, IDPs and PLWD
  • Design, implement, and oversee programs and initiatives that promote gender equality and inclusivity in various sectors. 
  • Research women-related issues and inclusivity barriers in training and job placements in different sectors and build strategies to surmount them.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to women, diversity and inclusivity initiatives.
  • Work with the project team, potential beneficiaries, and partners to ensure that all programmatic training and technical assistance provided by the project exemplifies best practices in gender and inclusion and are in line with the funding partner's policies.
  • Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track the progress and impact of women and inclusivity initiatives. 
  • Regularly assess the impact of various women's campaigns, and initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.


KPI’s to measure success

  • Monthly, quarterly accurate reporting of achieved numbers in training and placement of women, internally displaced people and people living with disabilities
  • 100% training numbers of the set target for women and marginalized groups
  • 100% placement rate of the set target for women and marginalized groups
  • Continuous improvement of Women and Inclusivity strategies to achieve a minimum of 80% program effectiveness
  • Achieve an adherence rate of 95% or higher for strategies to support best practices in gender and inclusion.

Person Specifications:

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, women’s studies, international development, or a related field

Years of Experience:

  • 3-5 years of cognate experience


Skills required to perform the Job: 

  • Technical expertise in supporting women, youth, marginalized groups and social inclusion of these groups.
  • Demonstrated success in projects that involve mobilization and training of women.
  • Research and Fact-checking
  • Experience and knowledge of issues related to women's integration, mainstreaming and social inclusion in Nigeria 
  • Proven experience in planning, monitoring, training, organizing and leading training sessions and workshops. 
  • Strong analytical, data-gathering and community interaction skills.
  • Strong understanding of gender dynamics, inclusivity challenges, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
