Job Summary:
The Kitchen Manager/Business Manager plays a crucial role in the success of Street Kitchen. This multifaceted position requires a strong blend of culinary expertise, operational management, and business acumen. You will be responsible for the entire setup and full operations of the kitchen, ensuring food quality and safety, managing staff, driving business growth, and sourcing for new business opportunities. You will work closely with the CEO through frequent check-ins to ensure alignment with company goals and strategic direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Operations:
- Oversee the entire setup of the kitchen, including sourcing and procurement of kitchen equipment, furniture, and supplies.
- Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Ensure adherence to all food safety and hygiene regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Develop and maintain high-quality food standards, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff, including Chefs, Cooks, and Kitchen Assistants, on safety protocols, and maintaining efficiency in an online delivery setting.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring timely ordering and receiving of food supplies.
- Implement cost-saving measures and minimize food waste while maintaining high-quality standards.
Business Management:
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement in menu offerings, pricing, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase order volume and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor and control food costs, labor costs, and other operational expenses to maximize profitability.
- Prepare reports and analyses on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order volume, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop and execute promotional campaigns and special offers.
- Explore and implement new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Sourcing for new business opportunities, such as corporate catering, event catering, and partnerships with other businesses.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Experience as a Kitchen Manager or in a similar supervisory role in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
- Proven experience in setting up and managing a successful kitchen operation.
- Proven experience in managing and training kitchen staff.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Strong business acumen with a focus on profitability and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using relevant software applications (e.g., POS systems, inventory management software).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing a kitchen in an online delivery or food service environment.
- Experience with menu development and cost control.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and reporting software.
- Experience in business development and sourcing new business opportunities.
