Loan Officer Underwriter

Key Responsibilities:

   •    Loan Application Review: Evaluate loan applications by reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documents to determine the client’s creditworthiness and repayment capacity.

   •    Risk Assessment: Analyze the financial stability of applicants, considering factors such as income, assets, liabilities, credit history, and market conditions to assess risk and make informed underwriting decisions.

   •    Decision Making: Approve, deny, or recommend modifications to loan applications based on a thorough analysis of the applicant’s financial status and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.

   •    Documentation: Ensure all loan application files are complete and accurately documented, maintaining detailed records of the underwriting process and decisions.

   •    Compliance: Adhere to all internal policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements in the underwriting process to ensure ethical and responsible lending practices.

   •    Collaboration: Work closely with loan officers, credit analysts, and other team members to provide feedback and recommendations on loan applications, ensuring a seamless and efficient loan approval process.

   •    Customer Service: Communicate with applicants to gather additional information or clarify discrepancies in their applications, providing excellent customer service and maintaining positive client relationships.

Qualifications:

   •    Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.

   •    Proven experience as a loan underwriter, loan officer, or in a similar role within the financial services industry.

   •    Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess complex financial information.

   •    In-depth knowledge of loan underwriting processes, financial regulations, and lending standards.

   •    Excellent decision-making abilities with a keen eye for detail.

   •    Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.

   •    High level of integrity and commitment to ethical business practices.

   •    Proficiency in financial analysis software and Microsoft Office Suite.
