Job Summary
The Manager, Programmes Design and Development will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services offered at the foundation. This role involves designing programs that address the diverse needs of children, youth, women, and men, fostering skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and cultural heritage preservation. The Manager will ensure that the project aligns with the foundation’s mission to promote principles and eco-friendly practices while addressing the identified needs of individuals and communities in Uganda.

Job Overview
The Manager, Programmes Design and Development will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services offered at the foundation. This role involves designing programs that address the diverse needs of children, youth, women, and men, fostering skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and cultural heritage preservation. The Manager will ensure that the project aligns with the foundation’s mission to promote principles and eco-friendly practices while addressing the identified needs of individuals and communities in Uganda. In addition, while remaining a charitable, not-for-profit organization, the foundation will strive for sustainability and continuity by identifying income-generating opportunities through various programs and activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development
- Identify, design, and implement programs and services for technical vocational education, mentoring, cultural enrichment, and recreational activities.
- Adopt the foundation camps program as one of the center programs.
- Conduct needs assessments and community consultations to inform program design and ensure relevance to target populations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure programs are relevant and impactful.
Curriculum and Training Committee
- Develop comprehensive training manuals, curricula, and educational resources for vocational education and training, mentoring, cultural enrichment, and recreational programs.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure that all educational materials are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards.
Staff Recruitment and Management
- Manage the recruitment and hiring process for key positions, including the programs director and qualified trainers/educators.
- Ensure that selected professionals possess the necessary qualifications and competencies for effective program delivery.
Training and Capacity Building
- Create a training and capacity-building initiative for staff and community members involved in the center’s programs and operations.
Program Implementation and Evaluation
- Oversee the implementation of all programs at the Center, ensuring that they are delivered effectively and meet quality standards.
- Establish metrics and evaluation processes to assess the effectiveness and impact of programs to be offered at the center.
Sustainability Initiatives
- Identify and develop income-generating initiatives within the center’s eight program and service components.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to create partnerships and opportunities for sustainability.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure that all programs comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, funding requirements, and relevant regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, program development, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in program design, implementation, and management in a nonprofit or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of technical vocational education and training, mentoring practices, community engagement and cultural heritage initiatives
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and stakeholders.

Salary: UGX 3,000,000 – 5,000,000
