In order to develop and achieve the NGO objectives, Good Neighbors International Uganda is seeking to recruit the following employees:
Project: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Improvement Project for the Girls in Jinja District
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Location: Jinja Field Office
Contract: April-December 2025 (3month probation and Renewable based on the evaluation)
Purpose
M&E Officer will support the development of a comprehensive M&E and reporting system to enable the collection, documentation, tracking, and reporting of accurate data related to all results levels of the projects: outcome, output, and activity. The M&E will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Monitor data collection and other actions to prepare documents that contribute to knowledge management and monitoring and evaluation of the projects under Good Neighbors International Uganda.
- Maintain a clear and accurate information collection system to ensure the systematic monitoring of activities and their implementation status.
- Analyse and interpret data to identify gaps and alert the team leader and recommend remedies in a timely manner about irregularities or challenges that arise for better decision making.
- Contribute to a knowledge management strategy through the collection and review of knowledge products such as research, reports, toolkits, guidelines, etc. linked to the topics addressed by the projects.
- Spearhead the implementation of standardized monitoring and evaluation tools for the projects and build the capacity of staff in quality data dimensions.
- Track all results areas to ensure that initiatives and interventions are on track, and manage evidence from the M&E to promote accountability, learning, and resource mobilization.
- Enforce data protection policies including personal data, during the planning, execution, documentation, and reporting.
- Design and analyze pre- and post-test surveys for various trainings and interventions
- Lead and technically guide the quantitative and qualitative research processes in the project sites.
- Participate in the recruitment processes for consultancy firms or individual research consultants, assist in designing the survey tools for baseline, mid-term, and end-term evaluations, and provide technical guidance on the submitted reports and results.
- Assist in building and sustaining networks with local stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of; Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Social Science. (Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage)
- Fluent written and spoken command of the English and local languages are an added advantage (Lusoga, Luganda).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of full-time paid professional experience in designing and implementing M&E frameworks for health, education, gender and development projects.
- Strong proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting tools and methodologies.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with relevant software applications and statistical packages.
- Previous work experience in the development work, preferably with international development partners, government, and non-government agencies.

- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis methods and software programmes (Nvivo, Power BI, SPSS, STATA, ODK, Survey CTO, Kobo Collect, etc).
- Project planning and management, results-based monitoring and evaluation skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting transparency and accountability.
- Ability to coach and train others in M&E methodologies.
