About this Position
The Operations Lead (COO) will be responsible for overseeing the operational management of Signalytic’s products and services, ensuring successful and on-time production, installation, and maintenance of Signalytic's products across all countries of operation. The COO will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to refine and implement processes that enable scalability, efficiency, and exceptional client satisfaction. The purview of this position includes procurement, inventory, production, shipping, installation, and field support.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Strategy and Execution
- Develop, implement, and oversee operational strategies that ensure scalability and efficient deployment of Signalytic’s product.
- Lead the development of detailed operational plans for new country launches and major installations.
- Ensure alignment of operations with overall company strategy, vision, and goals.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of operational workflows, including logistics, installation, and customer support.
Team Management and Development
- Build and lead a team of operations professionals, including logistics managers, technicians, and support staff.
- Develop training programs and certification processes for local installation technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and efficiency within the operations team.
Process Improvement and Scaling
- Refine and optimize processes for materials procurement, logistics, installation, and support to meet the needs of a growing international client base.
- Ensure continuous improvement of operational workflows, with a focus on reducing costs and increasing uptime across facilities.
- Implement and oversee quality control and risk management processes to ensure high standards of service delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local contractors, suppliers, and government entities.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Product, and Customer Support teams to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
- Manage third-party partnerships (e.g., solar installation companies) and ensure successful collaboration.
Financial and Resource Management
- Work closely with the CFO to manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and return on investment.
- Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources (materials, personnel, time) to ensure successful project delivery.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of scaling operations in a fast-growing company, preferably in the hardware/software or health tech sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive operational efficiency.
- Experience working in African markets or similar emerging market environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with supply chain logistics, telecommunications, and power management systems (solar, batteries, etc.).
- Experience in implementing and deploying operations through Electronic Resource Planning Software is necessary. Experience in Odoo 17+ is desirable.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions quickly and effectively.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
