Job Description/Requirements
Our client is seeking a highly qualified Operations Manager with extensive experience in the gold trading industry, specifically in Uganda and surrounding countries. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record, a strong network of suppliers, and comprehensive knowledge of Uganda’s legal and industry regulations. This role requires excellent negotiation and communication skills, the ability to manage teams, and regular reporting to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily operations related to gold trading, ensuring compliance with Ugandan laws and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of suppliers within Uganda and neighboring countries.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers and partners to secure the best deals for the company.
- Ensure that all transactions comply with local laws and industry regulations.
- Build and lead an effective team to support the company’s operational goals.
- Report daily to the CEO on operational activities, supplier engagements, and team performance.
- Use computers and communication apps effectively to manage operations and streamline processes.
- Monitor market trends and provide insights to support the company’s growth strategy.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the gold trading industry with proven records.
- Strong network of suppliers in Uganda and surrounding countries.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Uganda’s law and industry regulations.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in both Swahili and English.
- Ability to manage teams and work independently.
- Strong knowledge of computers and communication applications.
