Job Description/Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Partnership Coordination:
• Identify key stakeholders and networks relevant to the ministry’s mission, goals, and vision.
• Initiate, develop, and maintain positive relationships with NGOs, CBOs, and local churches with the aim of serving children in conflict with the law.
• Support the Executive Director, through the Lead Social Worker, in engaging civil society organizations, NGOs, and other partners.
• Provide care management and psychosocial support to children in Care facilities.
• Conduct regular follow-ups, compile reports, and attend weekly case review meetings.
• Attend CJI meetings and trainings as needed and requested by the supervisor.
Program Development and Implementation:
• Collaborate with partners to design and implement programs that address the social, legal, and psychological needs of children in Care facilities.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
• Track and report on the progress and impact of partnership programs, ensuring alignment with CJI’s mission and objectives.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
• A bachelor's degree in International Relations, Community Development, Theology/Religious Studies, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field.
• Certificate in Administrative Law.
Experience:
• At least 3 years of experience working with NGOs or in partnership coordination roles.
• Previous experience working with child protection, justice, or social services is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies:
• A devoted Christian who loves Christ and is committed to reflecting His love in their daily work. The candidate should demonstrate a heart for serving vulnerable children with compassion and grace.
• Strong partnership development skills, with experience building relationships across sectors (legal, social, religious).
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• A deep understanding of the challenges facing children in Care facilities in Uganda.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the diverse CJI team and contribute to a supportive work environment.
• Proficiency in project management, monitoring, and evaluation.
• A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset, with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel across Uganda.
• Additional Languages: Preferably Luo, Langi, Acholi.
