Job Description/Requirements
The Plant Operator II (Fuels, Oils, Coolants, and Lubricants) is responsible for handling, dispensing, and managing fuels, oils, coolants, and lubricants required in vehicle production and testing processes. The role ensures the correct application, quality control, and safe handling of all fluids in compliance with operational standards, safety guidelines, and production schedules.
Requirements
Education Background
- Craft /Advanced/National Certificate in Automotive Mechanics, UVQF Level II/Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanics or related field
Experience
- At least two (2) years of experience in fluid management, lubrication systems, or a similar role in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Fluid Handling and Dispensing: Dispense fuels, oils, coolants, and lubricants to vehicles during assembly, testing, and operational checks. Ensure the correct fluids and quantities are applied based on the manufacturer’s specifications. Monitor and calibrate fluid dispensing equipment for accuracy and reliability.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Conduct visual inspections and tests on fuels, oils, coolants, and lubricants to ensure quality and cleanliness. Identify contaminants or irregularities and report issues to the supervisor for corrective action. Verify the proper sealing of reservoirs and fluid systems after dispensing.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain fluid handling equipment, such as pumps, hoses, and dispensing tools. Perform routine maintenance checks and report malfunctions or wear requiring repair. Ensure safe storage and handling of all fluids in compliance with safety standards.
- Inventory and Record-Keeping: Monitor fluid stock levels and report shortages to avoid production delays. Maintain accurate records of fluids dispensed, quantities used, and replenishments required. Ensure proper labeling and documentation for all fluids handled.
- Safety and Environmental Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines when handling, storing, and dispensing fuels, oils, coolants, and lubricants. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during all operations. Ensure proper waste disposal of used or contaminated fluids in line with environmental and safety policies.
- Team Collaboration and Reporting: Collaborate with production teams and quality assurance personnel to ensure smooth workflow and fluid management. Document daily activities, challenges encountered, and any deviations from standards. Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fluid handling efficiency and safety.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate superior.
