Established 1991 in South Korea, the organization currently conducts missions around the world to improve quality of life and education standards, as well as toprovide aid in areas of civil unrest or natural disaster. In order to develop and achieve the NGO objectives, Good Neighbors International Uganda is seeking to recruit the following employees:
Project: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Improvement Project for the Girls in Jinja District
Position: Project Assistant
Report to: Project Officer
Location: Jinja Field Office
Contract: April-December 2025 (3month probation and Renewable based on the evaluation)
Purpose
Project assistant will provide administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within Good Neighbors International Uganda. S/he will assist in the SRHR integration initiatives in schools’ programs and support to the rights advocacy clubs in schools and communities and in the implementation of the district’s policy and legal frameworks related to SRHR. Specifically, the project assistant will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities:
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within Good Neighbors International Uganda environment.
- Support all phases of project implementation: identification of needs, proposing actions, technical and financial monitoring.
- Collaborates with teammates, schools and health facilities to implement the various components of SRHR interventions.
- Assist in planning and coordinating activities in the project area.
- Support in the monitoring processes for awareness raising, rights protection and advocacy interventions, operation of girl friendly spaces, local government’s policy implementation.
- Ensure proper management of collected data, analysis and reporting.
- Participate in crafting workable solutions, approaches and interventions in line with the organization’s strategic objectives and priorities.
- Provide support to organizing meetings, workshops and dissemination of project information to relevant stakeholders
- Assist in building and sustaining networks with local stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of; Social Science, Public Health, Community Development, Development studies, Education, Genders and international relations, or related field.
- Fluent written and spoken command of the English and local languages are an added advantage (Lusoga, Luganda).
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of full-time paid professional experience in the relevant sector including education, health, advocacy, and gender.
- Previous work experience in the development work, preferably with international development partners, government, and non-government agencies.
- Previous experience of working with children or in a school setting environment.
- Previous experience that involved field operations related to SRHR, education in a development organization is desired.

- Ability to adapt and exercise flexibility to changing situations and complete the necessary office administrative tasks.
- Demonstrated proficiency in use of office equipment with computer literacy in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.
- Excellent communication skills and high level of writing and reporting skills.
- Project planning and management, results-based monitoring and evaluation skills
- High attention to detail, ability to compile and synthesize information in coherent and succinct formats.
- Proactive attitude in addressing contentious issues.
