Good Neighbors is an international humanitarian and development Non-Governmental Organization in General Consultative status with the (UNECOSOC) United Nations Economic and Social Council. Established 1991 in South Korea, the organization currently conducts missions around the world to improve quality of life and education standards, as well as toprovide aid in areas of civil unrest or natural disaster. In order to develop and achieve the NGO objectives, Good Neighbors International Uganda is seeking to recruit the following employees:
Project: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Improvement Project for the Girls in Jinja District
Report to: Project Coordinator
Location: Jinja Field Office
Contract: April-December 2025 (3month probation and Renewable based on the evaluation)
Purpose
Project Officer contributes to planning, implementing and monitoring SRHR related interventions in cooperation with key stakeholders. Contribute towards the achievement of objectives set out in the multi-sectoral planning in health, education and advocacy in the catchment area. Based on the skills required for this position, s/he has the capacity to oversee the SRHR integration in schools’ programmes and support to the rights advocacy clubs in schools and communities.
Accountabilities and & Responsibilities:
- Implements SRHR activities in collaboration with schools
- Assist the Project Coordinator in designing operational strategies, planning and coordinating activities in the project area.
- Ensure project expenditures are executed in line with the organization’s policies and donor regulations, and timely financial reporting.
- Conducts assessments and regular visits to monitor activities, rights protection interventions and give feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate awareness raising and rights advocacy activities at school and community level.
- Ensure proper management of collected data, analysis and reporting.
- Participate in analysis of and reflection on the overall project approaches and interventions and contribute to realistic reflections in line with the organization’s strategic objectives and priorities.
- Supports in organizing meetings, workshops and dissemination of project information to relevant stakeholders.
- Liaises and builds networks with local stakeholders to facilitate communications and coordination of activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of; Social Science, Public Health, Community Development, Development studies, Education, Genders and international relations, or related field.
- Fluent written and spoken command of the English and local languages are an added advantage (Lusoga, Luganda).
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of full-time paid professional experience in the relevant sector including education, health, advocacy, and gender.
- Previous work experience in the development work, preferably with international development partners, government, and non-government agencies.
- Previous experience of working with children or in a school setting environment.
- Previous experience that involved field operations related to SRHR, education in a development organization is desired.

- Demonstrated proficiency in use of office equipment with computer literacy in Microsoft Office and video conferencing tools.
- Excellent communication skills including writing and oral expression
- Project planning and management, results-based monitoring and evaluation skills
- High level of writing, analytical and reporting skills
High attention to detail; ability to compile and synthesize information in coherent and succinct formats.
- Proactive attitude in addressing contentious issues.
