Job Description/Requirements
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
To greet guests and allocate rooms according to laid-down procedures.
TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To welcome and check in guests, making a warm and professional first impression.
- To maintain a tidy and organized front desk area.
- To promptly and kindly address guest inquiries, requests and concerns.
- To provide information about hotel services. Amenities and local attractions
- To register the guest, ensuring that the necessary details are obtained, i.e. name in full, address, whether company or private booking, special rate, allowances, VIP, charge details, nationality, passport number, etc.
- To Manage reservations, cancellations allocate room according to reservations list, ensuring that this is what the guest has booked, both in terms of the room itself and the rate to be paid and issue the key card.
- To Answer and forward phone calls.
- To coordinate with other departments and fulfil guest needs and requests.
- To liaise or alert hall porter so that the guest's luggage is taken to his room and the key issued.
- To update occupancy list, giving copies to hall porter and telephonist.
- To ensure that all departments, particularly restaurants, are notified of the tariff entitlements.
- To complete office bulletin book.
- To ensure that a complete handover is done to the next shift.
- To complete and close of their shift with a cash up signed by the FOM or duty manager
- Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
