Senior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee financial accounting, taxation, and compliance processes.
• Ensure adherence to Ugandan tax laws, including VAT, corporate tax, and other statutory regulations.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, and tax filings in a timely manner.
• Manage accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Conduct internal audits and ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Develop financial strategies to optimize tax planning and cost management.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to management for business growth.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting, with expertise in tax-related matters.
• Strong understanding of Ugandan tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Tally, or SAP.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial management skills.
• Ability to work independently and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in the FMCG or industrial sector.
• Hands-on experience in tax audits and financial risk management.
• Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
