Senior Manager Community Conservation And Exsitu Wildlife Services

Job Purpose

To provide strategic leadership and guidance in Community Conservation programs andCaptive Wildlife Management

a) Qualifications

An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Education (Biological), Zoology, Botany,Veterinary Medicine, Conservation Biology, Wildlife Health and Management,Environmental Sciences or Environmental Management from a recognized Universityii. Master’s Degree in the above fields from a recognized University

b) Experience

At least twelve (12) years of relevant working experience, three (3) years of which areat Manager level in related field from a reputable organization.

I. Coordinating the development of strategies and plans for Conservation Education,Captive Wildlife, Human-Wildlife Conflict, Community benefits and Enterprisemanagement.

II. Regulating and licensing of private captive wildlife management Centres

III. Coordinating the development of relevant management and administrativepolicies, regulations, standards and guidelines.

IV. Regulating and licensing wildlife trade, farming, hunting, ranching and otherwildlife enterprise

V. Coordinating the implementation of Conservation Education Programs andprojects in the country

VI. Coordinating the management of Ex-situ Wildlife facilities, Human-Wildlifeconflicts in the communities, Community benefits and enterprises accruing fromwildlife Conservation.

VII. Managing and accounting for revenue sharing and the wildlife compensationscheme.

VIII. Establishing and maintaining collaborative linkages with stakeholders inConservation Education and Captive Wildlife Management.

IX. Mobilizing resources to implement Community Conservation and Ex-situ WildlifeManagement Strategies and Plans.

X. Preparing work plans and periodic reports.

XI. Supervising and appraising staff.
