Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Physical Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
- A valid surveying certificate
- A postgraduate diploma or Master’s in Land Surveying, Physical Planning, Engineering is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying, construction projects with in oil and gas.
- Strong understanding of project and quality management, including audits and budget control.
- Familiarity with oil and gas activities and global knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and civil works.
- Proficiency in advanced surveying equipment and software.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Conducting topographical surveys to produce accurate terrain maps for pipeline routing and facility placement.
- Establishing and marking property boundaries to ensure legal compliance and avoid disputes.
- Determining optimal pipeline routes by analyzing environmental factors, terrain, and infrastructure.
- Marking precise well locations for drilling operations.
- Setting out construction markers for pipelines and facility development.
- Documenting final locations and dimensions of constructed infrastructure for compliance verification.
- Utilizing GPS, total stations, drones, and other tools to collect and analyze geospatial data.
- Collaborating with engineers, geologists, and project managers to align survey data with project objectives.
- Ensuring compliance with Ugandan regulations for land surveying and oil and gas activities.
- Conducting hydrographic surveys for pipeline installations crossing water bodies.
- Applying LiDAR technology for high-resolution terrain mapping in complex areas.
- Monitoring project progress and ensuring compliance with the Certification Scheme.
- Writing Verification and Control Activity Reports (VCAR) and defining the scope, budget, and activities.
- Qualifying and assigning inspectors per the Project Quality Plan and ensuring no conflicts of interest.
- Validating and managing Inspection Reports while resolving pending issues and updating VCAR status.
- Overseeing H3SE compliance in collaboration with the H3SE Manager.
- Inspecting installation and commissioning activities according to approved procedures when necessary.
- Writing progress reports and participating in internal and external project meetings as required.
