Responsibilities:
Installation and Maintenance
- Install, test, and maintain HVAC/R systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
- Perform system inspections and diagnostic tests to ensure proper operation of HVAC/R systems.
- Follow installation procedures and manufacturers' instructions to ensure system performance.
- Replace or repair faulty components such as compressors, thermostats, coils, and other system parts.
System Troubleshooting and Repair
- Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC/R system issues, including electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration problems.
- Perform system repairs or replace defective parts, ensuring minimal disruption to clients' operations.
- Test system performance after repair to ensure it meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
Customer Service
- Provide on-site support for clients, answering questions and explaining system issues, repairs, and maintenance.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude when interacting with clients, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Document service reports and keep customers informed of work progress, any necessary follow-up actions, and recommendations for system improvements.
Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to company and industry safety standards, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Comply with all applicable regulations, including local building codes, safety codes, and environmental laws related to HVAC/R systems.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols during all tasks.
Equipment and Inventory Management
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials.
- Maintain an inventory of commonly used parts and supplies, ensuring availability when required for service calls.
- Assist in ordering parts or materials as needed for installations and repairs.
Documentation and Reporting
- Complete service reports and work orders accurately, documenting system issues, repairs, and services performed.
- Submit reports and job documentation to the senior technician or supervisor in a timely manner.
Key Performance Indicators
Job Completion Rate:
- Percentage of service tasks completed within the allocated time frame.
First-Time Fix Rate:
- Percentage of issues resolved on the first visit without the need for follow-up.
Customer Satisfaction:
- Feedback and satisfaction surveys from clients regarding service quality.
Safety Compliance:
- Adherence to safety procedures and accident-free work environment.
Equipment Efficiency:
- Effectiveness in using tools and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime or damage.
Work Documentation Accuracy:
- Timeliness and accuracy of service reports and job documentation.
Qualification and Skills
- Certificate or Diploma in HVAC/R, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in HVAC/R installation, service, or maintenance (fresh graduates welcome).
- Possession of an ERA permit will be of added advantage
- Basic knowledge of HVAC/R systems, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC/R system issues.
- Familiarity with refrigerants, electrical systems, and HVAC/R components.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or after-hours emergency calls.
Working Condition
- Full-time position with on-the-job training provided.
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet project deadlines or respond to emergency calls.
- Work involves travel to client sites, including residential, commercial, and industrial locations.
- Must be able to work in varied environmental conditions, including outdoor weather and confined spaces.
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be provided and must be worn as required.
