Requirements
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or the equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in plant maintenance at a busy workshop and 2 years in a Supervisory or managerial position.
- Knowledge in methods, materials, equipment and tools used in vehicles, equipment maintenance and repair.
- Previous work experience with a GHA is an added advantage.
- General knowledge in Airside Safety, Airside Driving and DGR.
- Training on modern petrol and diesel engines.
- Oversee the repair and perform preventative maintenance on all company equipment as allocated by the GSE as per established standards and procedures of Uganda Airlines.
- Perform daily inspections on equipment and vehicles, provide feedback through serviceability checklists.
- Ensure that a work schedule is in place for all the technicians.
- Communicate effectively to the technicians and update them accordingly.
- Follow and adhere to all Workshop Safety Guidelines and procedures.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment to work in.
- Report faulty machines and recommend solutions to the line Manager.
- Complete, verify and file all vital documentation for assigned tasks.
- Maintain an up-to-date personal tool list; both physical and documented.
- Management of spare parts stock levels
- Assist in implementation of GSE policy and procedures.
- Ensure excellent maintenance of equipment records.
